Welcome to Starling Studio, a delightful creative space nestled in the vibrant Fiveways area of Brighton. Formerly known as Hummingbird Studio, our Art & Craft workshop on Havelock Road is brimming with creativity. Last year, Jo from Lume Lighting took over. With Jo’s fresh perspective, the space continues to evolve while remaining firmly rooted as a creative Studio in the community.
Whether you’re looking to learn a new artistic skill, or want to spend a few hours crafting, we are the place to come. Bathed in beautiful natural light, our studio exudes warmth and hospitality, making it the perfect setting to come for your next creative endeavor.
We’re thrilled to announce that this May we’re opening our studio doors for Artists Open Houses. Jo from Lume Lighting will transform the studio into a vibrant exhibition space, showcasing her handmade luxury lampshades, alongside the incredible talent of 11 local Artists & Makers.
Adorning our walls will be Debbie Lawrence’s joyful paintings, colourful tufted wool art by Bob & Eve, and contemporary landscape paintings from Kitty McCurdy.
As you explore our studio, you’ll find Laura Danby’s Scandinavian-inspired prints and gifts, Kay Train’s playful ceramics, Dan Howey’s expertly crafted wooden objects, and modern precious jewellery by Lulu McQueen.
For those seeking unique decor, we will have fine art prints from AndMash, Martha Mitchell Designs‘ black & white illustrated homeware, Kate Brigden’s exquisite handmade ceramics, and the bold geometric patterns of Pinki Jones’ homeware and clothing. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy!
